Introduction:

Today we take a break from the processor coverage and bring you another video card review to browse over. This time it is ASUS’s solution. I was very excited to get an ASUS video card to review because of ASUS’s great reputation for high quality products. I must say… well… wait, I’ll make you read the review before I give everything away in the introduction. Read on to find out if ASUS’s A9600XT/TVD graphics card lived up to ASUS’s product reputation.

Also, it is important to note that this is a review that uses a revised test suite, so make sure you use the forum link at the end of the review to give us your feedback!

The Bundle:

  • DVI-to-VGA Adapter
  • CD Case Includes:
  • Driver/ASUS Utility CD
  • Battle Engine Aquila
  • GunMetal: War Transformed
  • 6-in-1 Game CD:
  • Tom Clancy Splinter Cell
  • Warcraft III: Reign of Chaos
  • Big Mutha Truckers

  • Ulead Cool 3D SE 3.0 / Photo Express SE 4.0
  • CyberLink Medi@Show SE 2.0
  • ASUS has put a very complete bundle with this card. You even get the coupon for “the most anticipated game” – Halflife 2. Whether or not that is a positive or negative thing… I’ll leave that up to you. ASUS has also included the adapter for utilizing VIVO, but one thing that is missing from this bundle is a composite or S-video cable to make the functionality 100% useable. The last thing that is always a plus is all the games and software that are included in the “cheaply made” plastic CD case.
