ASUS P7H57D-V EVO

ASUS P7H57D-EVO Profile

With the launch of their new 32nm Clarkdale CPU just over a month ago, Intel also introduced 3 new chipsets. In our launch article we outlined some of the differences between the three and completed our performance testing on an Intel desktop H55 chipset based motherboard. Today we have an H57 chipset based motherboard from ASUS on hand, called the P7H57D-V EVO. This ATX motherboard is at the top of the heap when it comes to the H55/H57 line, coming in with both CPU and GPU overclocking! Featuring an 8+3 phase power design and T.Probe to monitor and balance the load across the phases, this motherboard is ripe for big overclocks on either Clarkdale or Lynnfield!

As far as the desktop arena goes, we will likely only see motherboards with H55 and H57 chipsets, the Q57 is aimed more at OEM’s. Differences between H55 and H57 are very minor, consisting of 2 additional USB 2.0 ports, 2 more PCIe lanes, and support for Intel RAID via the ICH10R versus the ICH10 on H55.
