Android 4.1.2 (Premium Suite Upgrade) Coming for Samsung Galaxy SIII

If you own a Samsung Galaxy S III smartphone you are more than likely just getting used to Android 4.1.1 (Jelly Bean) that came out to AT&T subscribers last week via Kies (update instructions). It looks like Samsung has a New Year’s surprise coming with the launch of the premium suite upgrade for the Galaxy S III. This update will update your phone to Android 4.1.2 and has already rolled out in some countries over in Europe. Android 4.1.2 offers significant improvements to many of the key apps with new innovative functions. Samsung has posted up two videos that showcases the new features on its official blog. There are a ton of new features, but most of the features are brought over from the Galaxy Note II. You can watch the two videos below.

  • Multi-View (Multi-Windows Multitasking, same as in Note II)
  • Page Buddy
  • New Gallery App (Same as in Note II)
  • Notification Panel (Notification Panel can now be customized)
  • Brightness Slider in Notification Panel Can Now Be Disabled
  • Smart Rotation (Screen Display adjusts to your angle of sightings)
  • Continues Input in Samsung Keyboard (Like Swipe or Android 4.2 Keyboard)
  • Paper Artist App
  • Group Cast App
