AMD prunes single-core prices by up to 19.2%

AMD has launched their energy-efficient Athlon 64 and Sempron processors and have silenty cut the prices members of its existing single-core desktop chip line-ups while others have been cut.

So out goes the Athlon 64 4000+, for example. The 3200+ and 3500+ are still there, but they’re now 12.7 per cent and 9.1 per cent cheaper, coming in at $138 and $189, respectively, from $158 and $208.
