Amazon Begins Shipping Kindle Paperwhite Today

Amazon today announced that the all-new Kindle Paperwhite and Kindle Paperwhite 3G begin shipping today. Kindle Paperwhite is the most advanced e-reader ever constructed with 62% more pixels and 25% higher contrast, a patented built-in front light for reading in all lighting conditions, long battery life of up to eight weeks, and a thin and light design. Kindle Paperwhite WiFi + 3G is the top of the line e-reader and offers the same new design and features of Kindle Paperwhite. It also has the convenience of supporting free 3G wireless, since Amazon pays for the connection.

Other new features include hand-tuned fonts for the new high resolution Paperwhite display, new user interface, new Time to Read feature that helps readers know the amount of time it will take them to finish a chapter or book and X-Ray to explore the “Bones of a Book”.
