Surface Pro 5 Leak Tips Kaby Lake Processor Upgrade

By

A new rumor is floating around that has to do with the coming Microsoft Surface Pro 5 tablet. The latest rumors about the new tablet claim that it will use Intel Kaby Lake processors inside. That should mean better performance and more importantly for some users, better power efficiency. Another rumor making the rounds also claims that there will be some changes to the keyboard cover for the tablet.

Microsoft is tipped to be changing the stylus to be thinner than it is now and to connect to a magnetic dock that also acts as a charger to keep the stylus charged up. As of now there are few other details about the tablet. We have no idea if Microsoft will change the ports and connectivity options on the tablet. Past rumors have suggested that the Surface Connect power adapter will continue on rather than moving to a USB-C port for charging reports Latin Post.

As for pricing, the Surface Pro line have never been considered cheap. The tablet will carry a price of $899 when the Pro 5 version launched according to sources. Presumably that price will be for the base model unit, but that it unclear. Launch could come as early as October for the tablet. The big driver for Microsoft for this tablet update is to put the focus on software-innovation and cloud-services rather than a full revamp of the tablet.

Other than hardware changes, the design of the tablet is expected to carry on. This isn’t exactly bad news considering that Microsoft has earned high marks and lots of praise from users for the design of the Surface Pro 4 tablets. In fact, Microsoft recently beat Apple in the J.D. Power tablet survey for the first time thanks in large part to the design and performance of the tablet.
