AMD Radeon RX 570 and RX 580 Video Card Photos Leaked

By

We have two video cards spotted in a leak, the AMD Radeon RX 570 and RX 580. The leak confirms a few details of the Polaris 10 based graphic cards available this April. Both AMD Radeon RX 570 and RX 580 cards are based on the Polaris 10 GPU core which was introduced by AMD last year. Through speculation of all components, it appears as though the Radeon RX 570 will have the same PCB as the Radeon RX 480/470 series. The rebrand features improvements in processing and better clock speeds, but not too drastic of an improvement over their predecessors.

AMDs Radeon RX 580 appears to have a higher clock speed compared to the Polaris 10 GPU. The video card features all the same 2304 stream processors, 32 ROPs, and 144 TMUs. The Radeon RX 580 graphics chip will be clocked at 1340 MHz boost and performs at 6.17 TFLOPs. The card will have 8 GB GDDR5 memory clocking in at 8.0 GHz with a 256-bit bus interface. The RX 580 video card will also have a 256 GB per second bandwidth. We may see the price of this card just under that of the RX 480, between range of $200 – $250.

The picture below has a similar look to the Radeon RX 480 but with a thicker metallic heat sink on the GPU and VRM to have better cooling. We can see this sample was manufactured on March 3rd which indicates the card may be available for purchase fairly soon.

We can see in the next photo the Radeon RX 580 will sport an 8-pin connector instead of a 6-pin. It may be argued the switch may be due to a higher clock speed or due to the RX 480 demanding more power from the PCIe bus. The initial 6-pin was not giving enough power to the VRMs and core to function as smooth.

The second card leaked is the Radeon RX 570. The RX 570 is a rebranded version of the proceeding RX 470. This card will have a clock speed of 1244 MHz boost which would have an output of 5.10 TFLOPs. Additionally, the RX 570 will have a Polaris 10 cut down variant compared to the RX 470. The leaked photos show it will not feature a DVI port. Instead it will have a HDMI 2.0 and three Display Ports. The RX 570 will have up to 8 GB GDDR5 clocking at 7.0 GHz with a 224 GB per second bandwidth. We may expect this card to be priced somewhere between $150 – $200.

AMD Radeon RX GPU Cores / Clock Memory/ Clock
Radeon RX 480 Polaris 10 2304 / 1266 MHz 8 GB / 8.0 GHz
Radeon RX 580 Polaris 10 2304 / 1340 MHz 8 GB / 8.0 GHz
Radeon RX 470 Polaris 10 2048 / 1206 MHz 4 GB / 6.6 GHz
Radeon RX 570 Polaris 10 2048 / 1244 MHz 4 GB / 7.0 GHz

The AMD Radeon RX 570 and RX 580 are expected to be available April 18th.
