Inside the box you will of course find the ASUS My Cinema U3100 Mini, which features a removable magnetic cap. Also included is an external antenna that stands 6″ tall. The antenna is telescopic up to 12.5″ and can rotate and tilt in order to get the best signal possible. The base of the antenna is magnetic, but if that doesn’t work for your application, a suction cup base is also included. The last piece that ASUS included is an MCX adapter for connectivity with a roof antenna or coaxial cable source.
The software bundle that comes with the TV Receiver is found on two discs with one containing the drivers and ASUS software and the other featuring the Arcsoft TotalMedia 2.5 utility needed to watch the TV channels. ASUS included a TV Tuner Setup guide, but it fails to explain or show how to install any of the software. The setup guide is the same one that is included with internal ASUS TV Tuner cards, so it isn’t even specific to this USB tuner. The setup guide only has one page of useful information and it tells you to install the driver and that ASUS EZVCR and PowerCinema installation is an option. Nowhere in the 5-page guide does it talk about ArcSoft TotalMedia 3.5 use or installation, so be prepared to figure this one out on your own.
