Dell is not shipping i7 Studio XPS laptops
Consumers were able to purchase a Dell Core i7 Studio XPS 16 in September, though Dell cannot provide the machines due to “design problems” which remain to be seen in even the review samples of the notebooks. The shipping dates for the machines were originally one week after purchase, but are continually being pushed back still. You can see thread after thread about the delays on the Dell community forums, I’m sure there are plenty of people as curious as I am on the reason for the delays, as you can still purchase the i7 variation of the laptop.
After talking to the nice people in customer service, it seems that Dell can’t give anyone any clues as to when the i7 Studio XPS machines will be shipped…Dell’s site claims that there is an estimated delivery date on 4th December but few people think that Dell will come close to meeting that date. Others have been told 12th December.
