Wistron lands Toshiba notebook orders for 2010

By

Wistron has landed consumer notebook orders from Toshiba, according to industry sources. This is the first time Toshiba has used the Taiwan-based manufacturer. In the past, Toshiba mostly outsourced its notebook orders to Inventec, Quanta Computer and Compal Electronics. It also started outsourcing a small volume of orders to Pegatron Computer in 2009.

In additional news, Quanta has landed orders for Dell’s Studio series notebooks for 2010, while Wistron has received Dell’s Vostro series models. Latitude series enterprise notebook orders are shared by Quanta, Compal and Wistron. Wistron will be Lenovo’s main manufacturer in 2009 with order volumes surpassing those of both Quanta and Compal, while Acer still has not yet settled its outsourcing plans
