Apple In Talks To Offer More DRM-free Music

With sites like Amazon offering a large number of DRM-free music titles, Apple is looking to expand its selection to help compete. We are slowly seeing the shift of legally downloadable music from protected to unprotected due to growing customer dissatisfaction with the confines of Digital Rights Management.

Citing “two music industry sources,” CNet News.com claims the talks with Universal Music Group, Warner Music Group, and Sony BMG are still in the preliminary stages with nothing finalized, though one label is reportedly leaning towards an agreement.
