Corsair Memory Publishes Intel Core i7 Build Log
The gang over at Corsair Memory dropped me an e-mail and let me know that they have posted a system build log for the Intel Core i7 platform. They of course use their own brand of memory and power supply, but seems they didn’t use the Corsair Nautilus 500 to keep it nice and cool. Rumor has it that Corsair is working on some water block brackets that work on Core i7, but they aren’t completed yet. Head on over to see what Corsair had been up to back in the lab.
Intel’s newest architecture, known as Nehalem (nee-HAY-lem), is an interesting and mysterious beast. There are some of the most significant changes in years inside this bad boy, so let’s get straight to the point. The biggest and most important change for us to talk about today is the memory controller. The memory controller, much like its name implies, is the interface between the memory and the processor. Typically located on the “North Bridge” chip on the motherboard, the memory controller communicated to the processor through the “Front Side Bus” or FSB.
