Over the next week, Ubisoft is offering Assassin’s Creed Unity at no cost to PC gamers via the Ubisoft Store. The game prominently features the famous Notre-Dame de Paris. The renowned landmark caught fire and burned on Monday.

Ubisoft announced that it would donate 500,000 to aid in the restoration of the cathedral. Ubi says that the free game is to “give everyone the chance to experience the majesty and beauty of Notre-Dame the best way we know how.”

Video games can enable us to explore places in ways we never could have otherwise imagined, the company said. We hope, with this small gesture, we can provide everyone an opportunity to appreciate our virtual homage to this monumental piece of architecture.

Assassin’s Creed Unity is set during the French Revolution that saw the grand cathedral vandalized and burglarized. Nearly the entire spire of the cathedral was destroyed in the fire, and so far almost $950 million has been pledged to rebuilding Notre-Dame reports Polygon.
