Corsair Ironclaw RGB – FPS and MOBA Gaming Mouse

Earlier this year, Corsair released some exciting new products to their product line. When it comes to their gaming mice, they have surprised us with three gaming mice: the M65 Elite, Harpoon RGB Wireless, and the Ironclaw RGB. In this review, we will be taking a look at the Ironclaw RGB optical gaming mouse, which includes the new PixArt PWM3391 optical sensor that is capable of reaching a DPI value of 18,000!

The Corsair Ironclaw RGB is a larger gaming mouse, so it is better suited for palm-grippers and users with larger hands. Other features include RGB illumination, onboard memory for profile storage, and a light-weight design. Priced at $59.99 shipped at Amazon, we can expect some very competitive performance and features against other gaming mice in this price category.

Like most Corsair products, the box for the Ironclaw RGB looks very simple with the yellow and black color theme. On the front, there is an illustration of the product with the product features and specifications listed around the box.

In terms of accessories, there is a quick start guide along with a warranty guide booklet. The quick start guide covers basic information about the Ironclaw RGB mouse, while the warranty guide covers information about the two-year warranty.

The Ironclaw RGB is built for right-handed users with the exterior made from plastic and rubber materials. With its larger design, this makes the mouse ideal for palm-grippers and users with larger hands. A large rubberized scroll wheel provides great feedback while scrolling, and the rubberized side grips make it easier to grip and control the movement of the mouse.

The front of the Ironclaw RGB is rather basic with its standard design. There is a large scroll wheel and two standard left and right click buttons with Omron switches. These Omron switches are rated for 50 million clicks for long-lasting durability, but a feature like this is pretty standard across gaming mice in this price category nowadays.

At the rear of the mouse, there is not much to see except for just the RGB capable company logo. The palm area also has some length to accommodate larger hands.

The left side of the mouse has a rather aggressive looking design. Here we can get a better look of the rubberized side grip. The side buttons are large and do stick out from the body, which can be good or bad depending on the user. Three DPI indicator LEDs are located towards the front of the mouse. These LEDs are RGB capable and are adjustable via the Corsair iCUE software.

Not much is going on with the right side of the Ironclaw mouse. Like the left side, there is a rubberized grip area here to improve the grip of the mouse.

At the top of the mouse, there are two additional buttons behind the scroll wheel. These buttons are for profile and DPI switching. As for profiles, the Ironclaw can store up to three separate profiles with its onboard memory. This is a great feature as makes the mouse portable when switching between different computers.

Beneath the mouse, there are four glide pads to provide smooth and even tracking. The 3391 optical sensor is placed close to the center of the mouse with it being just a bit bias towards the front of the mouse.

In terms of connectivity, the Ironclaw RGB connects to a computer via a standard USB 2.0 braided cable. The Corsair branding logo is also printed on the cable to help distinguish it from other cables.

Let’s take a look at the Corsair iCUE software in the next section.
