Valve’s Digital Card Game “Artifact” Launches in November

Many gamers were excited to hear that Valve was working on its first video game in five years. Lots of those gamers were then disappointed when we learned that the game wouldn’t be the Half-Life sequel that we all wanted, but a digital card trading game. If you liked what “Artifact” is, the game will launch on PC, Linux, and Mac computers on November 28.

“Artifact” will cost $20 to purchase and a mobile version will launch in 2019. No specific launch date has been announced for the mobile version. “Artifact” was created with help from Richard Garfield, the creator of “Magic: The Gathering”.

The $20 cost to get the game itself certainly isnt all you will pay if you get into the game. That $20 gets you a pre-made digital deck with 54 cards that contains 5 heroes, 9 items, and 40 other cards reports PCWorld. To add more heroes, you will need more cards.

Those cards will cost $2 for a pack that has 12 random cards in them. The game is certainly set up to push gamers to buy digital decks and packs the Valve coffers.
