There have been a lot of rumor and leaks flying around over the last few weeks about the coming Google Pixel 2 smartphone. This device is the followup to the original Google Pixel that was popular with Android users. The Pixel 2 hasn’t been officially announced yet, but leaks have hinted at what might be under the hood and what the device might look like. The latest leak suggests that the Pixel 2 will be one of the first smartphones to land running the Qualcomm Snapdragon 836 SoC.

That SoC is unannounced right now, but the expectation is a Snapdragon 835 running at a higher clock speed. The launch of the Pixel 2 and Pixel 2 XL smartphone is expected in October, the same month the devices launched last year. Other than being the first smartphones to rock the Snapdragon 836 SoC, the devices are also expected to be the first smartphones to ship with Android 8.0 right out of the box.

Rumors suggest that the Pixel XL 2 will have a bezel-less display and according to Android Headlines it will look like a combination of the Galaxy S8 and LG G6 in terms of design. The smaller Pixel 2 device will have bezels around the screen according to some leaks but other leaks suggest a design more like that of the Pixel 2 XL.

The smaller Pixel 2 is expected to have a 5-inch screen with the larger Pixel 2 XL expected to have a screen between 5.7-inches and 6-inches. Both of those screens are tipped as AMOLED panels. The exact launch date is tipped as October 5.
