Monster Hunter XX Demo Lands on Nintendo Switch Next Week

By

Nintendo Switch gamers who are fans of the Monster Hunter franchise will be glad to hear that the Switch version of Monster Hunter XX is launching in Japan on August 25. Ahead of that official launch, a free demo of the game will land on the Japanese Eshop on August 10 for you to try out. Before you get too bummed because you don’t live in Japan, the Switch is not region locked.

Gamespot says that means all you need to do to gain access to the Japanese EShop is create a Nintendo Account and select the region you want to access. Link that new account to your console and you can download the free demo to play and even buy the game when it launches if you want.

The catch is that the game is made in Japanese so it might be a bit hard to navigate, but you will get to play several quests. Nintendo 3DS players were first to get Monster Hunter XX earlier this year. The game itself is reportedly an expanded version of Monster Hunter Generations with new monsters, quests, and other content.

There is no word on if the game will ever be offered in a version for the US or other countries. We do know that the next major installment in the franchise will be launched on the PS4 and Xbox One in early 2018 and that it will land for PC gamers at a later date. That game is called Monster Hunter: World.
