Playerunknown Bans Popular Twitch Streamer for Team Killing, Triggering Ensues

If you play Playerunknown Battlegrounds (PUBG) and like to watch people stream their games on Twitch, you might be familiar with Dr. DisRespect. The Doc is said to be “one of the game’s most popular streamers” but the dude was recently banned for intentionally killing a teammate. The reason said teammate was fragged had something to do with not being able to fit four players on a motorcycle.

The problem is that PUBG has a strict policy against killing your teammates and while the fragging of that fourth wheel was in fun, Dr. DisRespect still found himself banned after the incident was reported and verified by Playerunknown via the video.

The Doc and Playerunknown’s Brendan Green went back and forth about the banning on Twitter and it was mostly lighthearted fun reports PC Gamer. The Doc said he would “break the rules anytime, anywhere.” Greene responded that “you follow the rules, or you GTFO!” The ban handed down on Doc was not permanent in this instance.

Things took a serious turn though when Dr. DisRespect tweeted, “If I could do the splits I’d roundhouse kick you in the next. But since I can’t, I’ll just front kick you in the chest instead.” Greene didn’t like that at all and responded via twitter, “Suggesting violence is the best way to solve a disagreement is just wrong, even if you are playing a character… ”

That response ended the Twitter exchange and seems to have left some wondering why Greene didn’t take it as the fun jab most saw that it was meant to be. Greene explained the next day via Twitlonger writing in part, “When I was in college, many years ago, I had a disagreement with my flat mate. Instead of talking it out like men, he decided to get aggressive and while I was backing away from him, he kicked me in the chest and put my head through a plate glass door. Thankfully, I dont suffer from any ill effects due to this experience.”

Essentially the joking threat Dr. D made was something that had actually happened to Greene in the past and Greene didn’t appreciate it. I think it’s pretty uncommon for one dude to meet another dude online, jokingly threaten to front kick him, and then find out that the other dude was actually front kicked into a door in the past triggering bad memories.
