NVIDIA HDR G-Sync Gaming Monitor Debuts at Computex
If you have the best gaming PC with the best video card out there and you are pushing all that graphics glory through a crappy monitor you won’t have the best gaming experience. At Computex NVIDIA and its partners have rolled out some new gaming monitors with HDR G-Sync technology and they will handle what your gaming PC is putting out.
At the show both Asus and Acer have new monitors using the tech on display and PCGamer got to check them out. These two monitors were originally announced back in January at CES, so they have taken a while to get here. ASUS has the ROG display at the show with HDR and G-Sync and Acer has a Predator unit with both features.
The downside is that there is no mention of when these monitors might be ready for you to go out and buy, how large they are or just how much they will cost. You can bet that the HDR feature will add to the cost. You can also count on needing some graphics muscle to take advantage of that feature.
I would expect these monitors to fall into the high-end range and probably come in the most common sizes. I admit the thought of gaming with a big 30-inch monitor running HDR and all the bells and whistles is very appealing to the PC gamer in me.
