AMD Releases Catalyst 13.3 Beta 3 Drivers – Fixes OpenGL Issues

Last Friday AMD released the Catalyst 13.3 Beta 2 drivers package that offered solid performance improvements in a number of game titles and a bug fix in the new Tomb Raider game title.

AMD Catalyst 13.3 Beta 2 Highlights:

• Improves performance in Far Cry 3 up to 5 percent
• Improve performance in Sim City 5 up to 16 percent
• Improves latency performance issues seen in Tomb Raider and Hitman Absolution
• Resolves slight corruption seen in Tomb Raider with TressFX enabled for CrossFire and single GPU configurations

The drivers worked great for us when we tried them out over the weekend, but we noticed that OpenGL game titles and utilities like FurMark would not run with AMD Catalyst 13.3 Beta 2 drivers. We let AMD know and sure enough there was an OpenGL issue with the 13.3 Beta 2 drivers and yesterday AMD released Catalyst 13.3 Beta 3 drivers that fix that issue.
