Woman Falls Into Ice Covered Canal While Texting – Caught on Video!

What happens when you are too busy texting your boyfriend than paying attention on where you are headed? You walk straight into an ice covered canal! CCTV footage over in the UK managed to catch Laura Safe (27) doing just that in Birmingham! ‘I thought ice on the canal was pavement because it looked dark in the corner of my eye,’ she said in an interview. Let this be a lesson to all of you! Pay attention while texting or don’t text and walk. No one should ever text and drive!

The sad part about all this is that there is a term for this – distracted walking. Who thought that distracted walking would be a growing phone-related danger. Then again, chewing gum and riding a bike was a pretty big danger when some of us were growing up. You don’t hear much about that these days!

In security camera footage released this Thursday, Laura Safe can be seen coming down a set of steps, with the canal directly in front of her. Sadly for Safe, she was too busy texting to her boyfriend on her smartphone to notice that she was about to have a really bad day.
