ASUS PB287Q 4K UHD Display To Cost $649 in America

By

Earlier today ASUS announced the ASUS PB287Q 28-inch 4K Ultra HD Monitor with 1ms gray-to-gray (GTG) response time and a 60Hz refresh rate. The press release stated that this display was $799, but also noted that pricing would vary per region. We have learned from our contacts at ASUS USA that the PB287Q will be $649 here in the United States. Our friends up in Canada will have to pay slightly more due to the currency and tax differences, so they are looking at $699. This is great news for gamers and enthusiasts as there is finally an affordable 4K UHD display. Some people arent going to be fans that ASUS went with a TN panel on this monitor, but from the couple times that we have used this model we have been impressed with the Novatek scaler and a Chi Mei Optoelectronics (CMO) panel. ASUS was trying to bring a price competitive display to market and it looks like they have successfully done just that.

The ASUS PB287W displays are currently on the way over on boats from Asia where they are manufactured and ASUS has also informed Legit Reviews that retailers will have them in-stock and ready for purchase somewhere around the middle of May. ASUS doesnt want to give an exact date as people often get upset if that date is missed and we can certainly respect that. If you have been waiting for this display to be released, the wait is nearly over.

Expect to see a review of this display up on Legit Reviews next month as we cant wait to get our hands on one! The only thing missing on this monitor is a VESA mount, but well let that slide as we wont be bolting up an Intel NUC or Gigabyte Brix Pro to this display as they dont have the horsepower needed for true 3840 x 2160 gaming! This monitor should give the Samsung UD590 a run for its money and many dislike that 4K UHD display due to the fact that it has a fixed stand (the ASUS PB28W can be raised and rotated.)
