CES 2014: Director Michael Bay Melts Down Onstage During Samsung Keynote

By

samsung_ces2014bannerDirector Michael Bays flustered departure from the stage during the Samsung press conference on Monday has perhaps become the biggest buzz from CES 2014. Bay, most well known for directing the Transformers movies, was welcomed onto the stage by Samsung Executive Vice President Joe Stinziano and was to share an experience with Samsungs new 105-inch UHD curved display television. However, Bay was troubled by problems with the teleprompter and came to an awkward loss of words. Unable to maintain his composure, an embarrassed Bay left the stage in front of a live media audience and livestream viewers.

Bay later blogged his embarrassment and his support for Samsung.

Wow! I just embarrassed myself at CES I was about to speak for Samsung for this awesome Curved 105-inch UHD TV. I rarely lend my name to any products, but this one is just stellar. I got so excited to talk, that I skipped over the Exec VPs intro line and then the teleprompter got lost. Then the prompter went up and down then I walked off. I guess live shows arent my thing.

But Im doing a special curved screen experience with Samsung and Transformers 4 footage that will be traveling around the world.
