NZXT Crafted Series Vulcan Micro-ATX Case

NZXT Vulcan mATX Case

Today we are looking at NZXTs newest addition to its Crafted Series of enthusiast cases, the Vulcan. Now the Vulcan is different than any of the other Crafted Series cases we have previously reviewed. The most recent of which being the Hades, Tempest EVO, and Lexa S. How the Vulcan is different is that it is a mATX case, and a small one at that. Standing at a short 14.9 (without carry handle), its fairly small for a case touted as an enthusiast case that can hold a 6.5 tall CPU cooler and a video card up to 13.75 long. Thats enough room to stuff an ATI Radeon HD 5970 video card in this case.

If youre thinking that in a case this small cooling is going to be an issue, well, you’re right; heat has to go somewhere. The Vulcan has room for 5 fans: a single 120mm front intake, a 200mm side intake, two 120mm fans for exhaust in the top, and a single 80/92mm fan in the rear for exhaust. To top it off there is a two channel fan controller that can control up to 4 fans; all this in a tiny case that sports a $69.99 MSRP. Now, before we get into looking at how NZXT put so much in a little case lets take a quick look at the specifications for the Vulcan.
