Google Unveils Major Upgrade To Search Algorithm
By
Referenced as Hummingbird, Google has overhauled its search algorithm for the first time in three years in response to the complexity of queries users have been sending through the popular search engine. It actually launched about a month ago and yesterday Google’s Amit Singhal reported that it has already seen roughly 90% of the search traffic. Part of the increased search criteria complexity stems from voice searches that are driven mostly from mobile devices which require querying of concepts. This in contrast to the Boolean or keyword searches that were used in the early days of Google, which is approaching its 15 year anniversary. The big question is, has anyone noticed a difference?
