ULi will keep using HyperTransport in Intel-platform solutions

ULi, a popular chipset vendor, has decided to keep utilizing the HyperTransport technology on Intel-based platforms. Their latest Intel implementation, the M1685, boasts a 1.6GB/s maximum bandwidth and support for DDR-400 and DDR2-667, with DDR2-800 support upcoming in later chipsets.

Chipset vendor ULi Electronics will continue utilizing HyperTransport bus technology as the northbridge-to-southbridge interconnect in its solutions for the Intel platform, says the company. For ULi?s latest northbridge for the Intel platform, the M1685, the HyperTransport enables a peak bandwidth of 1.6GB/s, according to ULi. Next week, at IDF Taiwan, the company will unveil the M1685 as a part of a chipset also including the M1567 southbridge.
