Executive Carousel Continues at Activision

By

For the second time in four months Activision has lured away a manager from P&G and has hired them into an executive office. This week Thomas Tippl was hired in as the new chief financial officer. Last week, the president of its publishing division, Kathy Vrabeck, resigned. In July Richard Steele was moved from being the president of Activisions distribution unit to the day-to day operations division. One month earlier in June Activision promoted Ron Doornink to chairman of its publishing unit and hired in Michael Griffith to be CEO of its publishing unit. Clearly an “Executive Carousel” is taking place!

Activision (ATVI) is changing the nameplates in its executive suite yet again.
The video-game software publisher announced Monday the hiring of a new chief financial officer. Thomas Tippl, formerly a manager with Procter & Gamble, is replacing William Chardavoyne, who has been with Activision for more than five years. Chardavoyne will stay on with Activision until the end of the company’s fiscal year in March before leaving to pursue other interests, the company said.
