Zelda: Breath of the Wild Update Aims to Fix Framerate Issues

By

As popular as the new Nintendo Switch game Zelda: Breath of the Wild is, there are some valid complaints from players of the game that Nintendo is working on addressing. One of the complaints has to do with slow frame rates in some areas of the game. No one likes a video game that lags at times. The update is 1.1.1 and Nintendo is playing coy with exactly what the update does.

All the patch notes say is that “Adjustments have been made to make for a more pleasant gaming experience.” Thanks for all the details Nintendo. The upside is that players of the game have come forward and stated that after the patch was applied, the update improves frame rates in different areas of the game.

The update is required if you want to continue to use the game’s online features and if the Switch is connected to the internet, the update is downloaded and applied automatically. This is the second update released for Breath of the Wild. The first update launched along with the game and made the eShop accessible from the title screen of the game to allow gamers to buy the DLC season pass. That update also promised to make for a more pleasant gaming experience according to GameSpot.

Sales of the Switch are robust with Nintendo having a hard time meeting demand for the console so far. Word is that Switch sales have nearly doubled in Japan. Some reports indicate that the sales of the console are challenging the sales numbers that the PS4 is putting up.
