Yoshiaki Koizumi Talks Details on Super Mario Odyssey

People sort of lost their minds when Nintendo unveiled a shirtless Mario for Super Mario Odyssey. It was a bit strange to see Mario ready for the beach because he has nipples but has no belly button. If you wondered why game producer Yoshiaki Koizumi talked about some of the stuff fans have been wondering about.

Koizumi never really says why exactly Mario has no belly button. I honestly thought it was just under the high riding shorts he was wearing, but apparently not. Koizumi says that Nintendo thought about going back and giving Mario a belly button but never did.

“Once I heard that people were talking so much about Mario’s belly button it made me start to think about whether we should revisit the topic on the design side,” Koizumi said.

Koizumi also answers a question about Toad that means I have been wrong about him forever. That is not a hat, that is just his head. Mind Blown. The producer also said that the dev team for the game added more coins out of respect for the testers reports GameSpot.
