The PCMark Vantage benchmark was run in 64-bit mode for the results shown below.

Benchmark Results: PCMark Vantage showed a huge performance difference between the WD Caviar Green and the WD Caviar Black. The overall score on the WD Caviar Green was 4181 PCMarks, and that was dwarfed by the 5758 PCMarks that was seen on the WD Caviar Black. The overall score shows that the WD Caviar Black is 38% faster than the WD Caviar Green hard drive. The individual performance tests in the hard drive test suite can be seen in the screen shots above for those that are interested in certain scenarios. The WD Caviar black was ~43% faster in the gaming test and ~37% quicker in the video editing test that uses Windows Movie Maker. Very impressive scores by both, but you can clearly see that both 2TB drives are aimed at very different audiences.
