WD launches Massive 3TB Portable Hard Drives With USB 3.0

WD today introduced its new My Passport Essential portable hard drive, My Passport Essential SE portable hard drive, and My Book Essential external hard drive. All three drive families come in a variety of capacities and offer SuperSpeed USB 3.0 connectivity. The My Book Essential drive is now available in 3 TB capacity, in addition to 1 and 2 TB capacities. My Book Essential drives range from $129.99 USD to $249.99 USD. Pictured below is the retail box for the new WD 3TB My Book Essential external hard drive. This is a good sign that a 3TB hard drive could be coming out soon from WD in a bare drive solution!
