Sony Releases SR-64HXA microSD Card Designed For Premium Sound

By

Sony has launched a 64GB microSD card aimed at audiophiles that are looking for the best audio quality possible. While the storage capacity and speeds of the card haven’t changed, Sony has sorted the parts and materials in this card to optimize the sound quality. For example they used precious metals to plate the contacts of the Sony SR-64HXA microSDXC memory card. This is said to reduce the electrical noise when reading data to give you crystal clear sound quality.

The Sony 64GB SR-64HXA microSDXC card comes out in March for 18,500 Japanese Yen or about $156 USD. A normal Sony 64GB microSDXC card can be had for just $28.95 shipped on Amazon. Both cards are UHS-I and Class 10 speed rated and feature identical storage capacities. It looks like Sony is charging five times more than their standard offering!
