Six Game Titles Make It Into The World Video Game Hall of Fame

The Strong National Museum of Play in Rochester, N.Y. today announced the inaugural class of game titles that have made it into the Word Video Game Hall of Fame.The group hopes to preserve the history of video games like it already has done with physical toys, dolls and games. The Strong is among the largest history museums in the United States and is also the nations second largest childrens museum.

The organization is allowing six games into the Hall of Fame this year after narrowing it down from a field of 15 finalists. The six game titles that made it into the Hall of Fame in 2015 were Pong, Pac-Man, Tetris, Super Mario Bros., DOOM, and World of Warcraft. The titles that were nominated, but not selected were said to be Angry Birds, FIFA, The Legend of Zelda, Minecraft, The Oregon Trail, Pokmon, The Sims, Sonic the Hedgehog, and Space Invaders.
