Samsung announced on their blog that their 110-inch 4K Ultra HD (UHD) TV that has four times the resolution of standard high-definition TVs is going on sale in China, the Middle East and Europe. In South Korea, the TV is priced at 160 million won or about $152,000 USD. The 110-inch U-HD TV measures 2.6 meters by 1.8 meters or 8.5′ by 5.9′. A standard king size bed is 6.7′ x 6.3′, so this UHD TV is bigger than most peoples beds!
It appears that the ultra HD TV era has arrived, even though there is little 4K content to be viewed through both cable and satellite companies. 4K TV sets were one of the few truly new technologies shown off at CES earlier this year, and they’re poised to be an even bigger deal at CES 2014 next week. The part number for this Samsung 110-inch UHD TV is 110S9 for those that have $152k sitting around!
