Rumour: Samsung Galaxy Nexus Successor in the Works

By

This just rumour at the moment, but the news is that the Samsung Galaxy Nexus, GT-I9250, will be seeing an incremental upgrade soon, in the form of the GT-I9260, codenamed “Superior”. This will sit between the current Nexus and the current top of the range Galaxy S3.

The screen will remain the 4.65 inch Super AMOLED type, but gets a ‘HD’ suffix, implying higher resolution. The ARM Cortex A9 dual core CPU will see a small boost to 1.5GHz, making operation just that bit snapper. Then, we have better cameras back and front going from 5 and 1.3 megapixels to 8 and 1.9 megapixels. Storage remains at 16GB, but the new model gets an SD card, which is a bit hard to believe, given that Google really doesn’t like removable storage. Once again, this just rumour at this point, with the final product possibly turning out quite different. And no SD card…

Samsung is the big boss in the HIGH-END Android market with the Galaxy S II, Galaxy S III and Galaxy Note, but Google could be one of the biggest players in the MID-RANGE HIGH-END market with this device if the price is cheap of course.
