Razer Exhibits Razer Mamba Chroma Mice and Refreshed Kraken Pro Headsets at E3 2015

e3_2015_razer_01Razer as usual showed up with style at this year’s E3 Expo and they were showing off a few new and upcoming though not sky shattering products compared to their Razer Blade laptops and last year’s NZXT H440 Razer Edition. Display cases of a multicolor multi-LED Mamba gaming mouse and the refreshed Kraken Pro headset colors sat at the front of the booth while guests had the opportunity to go hands on with the Firefly Chroma Mousepad launched a few weeks ago.e3_2015_razer_02e3_2015_razer_03

The new Razer Mamba is anticipated to feature two products: the Mamba Chroma wireless mouse and Mamba Chroma Tourmanent edition wired mouse. Like other Razer Chroma products, the new Mamba has mulicolor LEDs, but unlike the Naga Epic Chroma and the DeathAdder Chroma, the Mamba has two strips of LEDs that run along the top almost similarly to the Roccat Kone XTD gaming mouse. The pictures we took don’t do the Mamba’s new lights much justice because the low lighting in the display make the mouse LEDs appear overexposed in our photographs. It looks much better in person. The new Mamba was only shown demonstrating a smooth rainbow wave rolling across the back of the mouse and we were told that would be the only lighting preset that would allow the LED light strips to illuminate in multiple colors.e3_2015_razer_04

A novel feature of the new Mamba are the Adjustable Click Force Technology mouse buttons. On the bottom of the mouse are two screwheads, one each positioned to the right and left mouse buttons on the top side. Each of these screws can be tightened or loosened to adjust the spring tension in the button switches. The new Razer Mamba will be available worldwide at major retailers later this year during Q3. The wireless Mamba will cost $149.99 and the wired Tournament Edition Mamba will cost $89.99.e3_2015_razer_05

The other sealed display case at the Razer E3 booth contained the refreshed Kraken Pro headsets in three colors: green, black, and white. Within the Razer Kraken family of gaming headsets, the Kraken Pros are USB headsets and this refresh introduces an inline-controller with volume control and mic mute. No word yet if the same or a similar feature will be introduced to the analog Kraken or the Kraken 7.1 Chroma. The refreshed Kraken Pros are available for purchase now with an MSPR of $79.99.e3_2015_razer_06

We also took a quick look at the Razer Firefly Chroma Gaming Mousepad launched a few weeks ago. All the Razer Blade laptop stations had a Firefly mousepad, as well as a Blackwidow Chroma mechanical keyboard, and either a DeathAdder Chroma or Naga Epic Chroma. The rainbow wave light preset looked particularly good on the keyboard and mousepad, though the Firefly is capable of a few other presets, all for a single color. These presets are steady, breathing, and reactive, the last of which the mousepad’s lights idle off until the press of a Razer mouse button which illuminates the Firefly mousepad after which the lights fade slowly. The Razer Firefly can be preordered at the Razerzone store for $59.99 and will ship out on June 26.e3_2015_razer_07
