Raptr Announces Most Played PC Games For January 2014

Raptr recently revealed the most played PC games of January 2014. The big movers last month were DayZ and newcomer Rust as both made it onto the top 20 list. DayZ shot up to the 14th spot and Rust made it all the way up to number 11. Rust launched on December 11, 2013 by the creators of Garrys Mod and is doing really well. Rust will be developed through the rest of 2014 and there is expected to be a beta version soon. The online survival title has already sold more than 1 million gamers at $20 each with just the alpha release! Not bad to bring in $20 million in sales in the first two months on a still unfinished game title! Rust has a lot in common with DayZ and Minecraft. All three feature survival elements and launched at a reduced price while still in development. DayZ is an online survival shooter that features scavenging. Minecraft is a block-building game that has players focusing on building and crafting. Rust has found success with a formula that combines survival and crafting into one experience.
