For those of you looking forward to Apple shipping their new Mac Pro workstation by December 30th, prepare to be disappointed as the shipping dates have already been postponed to a rather ambiguous 'February'. However, there is a silver lining for those of you who have been waiting for the new Mac Pro. The delay might give Apple enough time to release, or at the very minimum announce, a 4K Thunderbolt display which would be very welcome addition to Apple display line. Or perhaps this delay could give those of you who chose to wait to order a Mac Pro another 2 months to collect interest on the $3000-$10,000 nest egg you have been saving in order to buy this machine in the first place.
Apple announced yesterday that orders for the Mac Pro would begin today, December 19. Considering that it has been less than 24 hours since ordering has become available and the shipping date has already moved back by 2 months, I think it is safe to assume that there will probably be further delays coming until Apple can get their supply chain caught up to what appears to be larger than expected demand.
On a side note, I am glad to know that I am not the only one who thinks this new design looks like a trash can.
