Plantronics Reveals Voyager Edge and BackBeat FIT Bluetooth Headsets at Mobile World Congress

By

Today at Mobile World Congress, Plantronics is revealing two new mobile sound products for your on-the-go needs. One device is an intelligent mono Bluetooth earpiece for your travels, while the other is a Bluetooth stereo headphone for your active lifestyle. Both gadgets pack the technology in their designs, which is something that a lot have come to expect from high quality Plantronics products. We did get to check these out while at CES in Las Vegas and they do look like very promising products.

Voyager Edge

Looking at the first of the products, the Voyager Edge, this mono earpiece will connect to your smartphone via Bluetooth audio, providing high quality audio and clear communication abilities. Without even having to look at your phone, this earpiece can announce who is calling you, plus you can even provide voice commands, such as Answer to pick-up the call. Speaking of answering calls, the Voyager Edge has the ability to answer a call the moment you put the earpiece on your ear, which is a very neat feature.

The Voyager Edge earpiece itself can get you up to 6 hours to talk time, while the included charging case can boost that another 10 hours, for a total of 16 hours of on-the-go talking. Not sure how much battery life you have left? Well, aside from the voice command to check the level, you can also drop it on the charging case and find out. The charging case has the ability to show you the charge level of both the headset and the case itself via a simple touch.

You can expect to find the Voyager Edge available this April with an MSRP of $129.99 USD worldwide. This price does include the portable charging case, too.

The second product that Plantronics is revealing today is called the BackBeat FIT; small and lightweight Bluetooth stereo headphones. If you havent guessed by the name, the FIT line is designed for those of you with an active lifestyle.

BackBeat FIT

Do you find yourself running or biking at night and it starts to rain? Or do you just sweat a lot while doing a strenuous activity such as these? Plantronics has you covered with this product! These one-piece headphones are built with sweat resistant materials, plus the headset has a P2i nano-coating to repel water or sweat. Dont expect to go swimming with these headphones, though The entire band on the BackBeat FIT also has a reflective strip molded right into the design, making you more visible at night. Plantronics designed these with safety in mind, as the user will be able to hear surroundings with these on, thanks to how the earpiece is designed.

Expect to get up to an incredible 8 hours of listening time with the BackBeat FIT headphones.

Are you looking to make or take calls while on-the-run, too? This headset even lets you do that for up to 6 hours! There are no voice controls to make this headset work; rather there are on-ear controls to make everything easier and convenient for you.

Another feature included with the headphones is a case that you can not only store your headphones in, but you can use this case as an armband to store your smartphone in while doing your activities.

You should be able to get your hands on the BackBeat FIT headphones this April for $129.99.
