No Mans Sky Set To Be Released This August

No Man's Sky

No Mans Sky is being developed and published by Hello Games and is a first-person open universe survival game that takes place in a vast and uncharted universe. Players explore the universe and claim habitable planets (the game provides players more than 18 quintillion planets). Along their journey the player can name any planet they are first to discover as well as the plants and animals which inhabit the planet. Along with the newly updated release date one of the games directors, Sean Murray, expressed his concern with the games current state:

I have had to make the tough choice to delay the game for a few weeks to allow us to deliver something special. . . We understand that this news is disappointing. . . The universe of No Mans Sky is incredibly vast. More than you can imagine. This is a type of game that hasnt been attempted before, by a smaller team than anyone would expect, under an intense amount of expectation.

The previous scheduled release date was noted as June 24 but Murray stated, We got one shot to make this game and we cant mess it up.

The difficult decision to postpone the release of the game has led to death threats being sent to Murray which resulted in a humorous response through twitter:
