No Man’s Sky Next Update Adds Multiplayer and more

By

The next major update for the game No Man’s Sky is coming soon. The launch date is July 24 and the update is called Next. It brings some things to the game that many players feel should have been included from the beginning. One of the biggest is a new multiplayer mode.

With multiplayer players will be able to play with friends or strangers to cooperatively explore the universe or to fight each other for dominance of whatever world they want. The game is also getting a visual makeover that promises greatly improved planetary terrain generation, ground textures, water, and clouds.

Significantly more details will be added to ships, NPCs, and buildings. The game will also be playable in a first person or third person view in ships and on the ground. Base building is updated to allow players to construct multiple bases anywhere on a planet. The size and complexity limits will change allowing players to build things that are more complex.

A bunch of new base parts are available as well. One of the cooler bits about the update is that players will be able to command freighters and assemble and upgrade a fleet of frigates. As the commander, you can send the fleet into the universe or have them help you explore systems. The No Man’s Sky Next update will be free for the PS4 and PC and will land for the first time on Xbox reports GameSpot.
