Nintendo Switch Online service pre-orders launch

By

Gamers on the Nintendo Switch who have been counting the days until the online service launches are about a month away now. The Nintendo Switch Online service is set to launch in September. A specific launch date in September we dont know because Nintendo remains coy on the date. What we do know is that Amazon has kicked off pre-orders for the 3 and 12-month memberships.

The pre-orders are underway as part of the Amazon Digital Services Program reports Polygon. Nintendo announced its online service earlier this year and it has been a long time coming for most gamers. The reason that many are so excited about the online service is that it will be accompanied by a mobile app that allows for chat services.

The online service will also give players access to more than 20 NES games and cloud storage. The cloud storage is a big deal because it will allow gamers to move to a new console without losing any of their game save data.

One bad thing about the launch of Nintendo Switch Online is that players will have to subscribe to take advantage of multiplayer gaming. That means if you play Mario Tennis Aces or Splatoon 2 online you will have to buy the Nintendo Switch Online service to continue doing so.
