Nintendo NES Classic Edition Returns June 29

By

Nintendo has announced that the popular and affordable NES Classic edition mini retro console will be coming back this summer. The NES Classic will land again on June 29, 2018, about a month and a half from now. The console will sell for $59.99.

Nintendo discontinued the NES Classic Edition about this time last year, much to the disappointment of retro gamers out there who had been unable to get hands on one of the consoles. Scalpers drove the price of the NES Classic Edition up considerably by purchasing them in massive quantities and turning around and marking the price up.

Just like when the console was on the market before, it will come with 30 of the coolest games from the Nintendo era complete with the 8-bit pixelated graphics we all remember from the original games. Some of the cool games include Super Mario Bros., Super Mario Bros. 3, The Legend of Zelda, Donkey Kong, Pac-Man, Punch-Out, Galaga, and lots more.

The console supports different display modes including a CRT filter that looks like an old TV with scan lines. 4:3 aspect ratio makes the games look as they did originally with slight stretch to them. Pixel Perfect mode makes all the pixels perfect squares.
