New XPS cases spotted. No barfing on the carpet please.

In a surprise turn of events at E3, new Dell XPS machines in very bold and wild colors and designs turned up at the nVidia booth. Shifting from their traditional industrial charcoals, grays, and silvers, Dell decided to go for the oh so popular “faux extreme”. Aside from that pidly detail though, the machine looks quite powerful, if ambiguous. The only specs indicators are external, with two video cards (which nVidia has confirmed are Quad SLi cards), and what appears to be a Creative X-Fi. Also of interest if you pay close attention to the pictures is the orientation of the cards. See it yet? Yup, it’s BTX, and that Quad SLi system is going to need all the cooling benefits it can get.

To summarize, by finding this system at the NVIDIA booth at E3, we seem to have discovered a brand new Dell system, the first Conroe retail chips, a new chipset and brand new video card from NVIDIA. Dell’s upcoming XPS revision will be sporting a new nForce chipset, probably in the 500 series naming scheme, that will have support for Intel’s upcoming “Core 2” Conroe processors. To go along with it, it appears the newest revision of NVIDIA’s Quad-SLI technology will be included in it as well. There is no doubt that Dell, Intel and NVIDIA will be creating one of the fastest gaming PCs ever to be built; hopefully we’ll see these for sale, and the components as well, soon!
