Netgear ReadyNAS Ultra 2 Plus FTP Speeds

The first benchmark I ran was a simple FTP benchmark test. For this I fired up Windows using Bootcamp on my Mac Pro, and install SmartFTP (4.0.1155.0) and simply connected to the NAS and transferred an almost 6.5GB file.

I was shocked to see this speeds out of this NAS. Usually FTP speeds in non-business NASes that I have dealt with were incredibly slow. This was not the case, the Netgear ReadyNAS Ultra 2 Plus averaged 75MB/s and peaked at 84.1MB/s.

The Download speeds were a bit slower at an average of 71MB/s and a maximum of 75MB/s.
