MOBA Gaming Performance – Is The NVIDIA GeForce GTX 950 Worth It?

Jump To:

Test System

Before we take a look at the results, let’s take a quick look at the system which was used for test the Radeon HD 6950 and GeForce GTX 950. The hardware remains largely unchanged from four years ago when it was assembled. It is built around a Sandy Bridge Intel Core i5-2400 processor, ASUS P8Z68-V LE motherboard, and 8GB G.Skill Sniper 1333MHz CAS 9 dual channel memory. An XFX 850 watt Black Edition power supply provides more than enough power for the system and the video cards. Testing was done on Windows 10 64-bit.GeForce GTX 950 and Radeon HD 6950

Graphic drivers used for testing:

  • AMD CATALYST 15.7.1
  • NVIDIA GeForce 355.65

Thanks for doing a Heroes of the Storm benchmark, but too bad that only 2 GPUs were included. I am very interested in how mid-range GPUs compare to high-end ones in HotS. I’ve also head that the CPU’s performance has a high impact on the game’s performance. Would be great if you could cover this topic in more detail.

Lets be serious. At least in europe you can boy it for 160€ (not 160$) (usual VAT ~20%). For 200€ you can buy a 780ti.

Given you’re buying a compromise graphic card (price range) why to buy a second hand beater?

or (gasp) an r9 260x and then used the money saved towards an IPS or VA freesync monitor…
