Microsoft Unveils Surface Pro 3 Tablet

Microsoft Surface Pro3 Microsoft has just unveiled the new Surface Pro 3 tablet in New York. Panos Panay, who is the corporate Vice President of Microsoft’s Surface Division, said the goal of the device is to “take away the conflict” between owning a laptop and a tablet. This is the tablet that can replace your laptop”. The new Surface 3 is powered by an Intel processor and measures less than 0.4″ thick (0.36″ to be precise), and is equipped with a 12-inch screen weighing just under 2 pounds. Surface 3 will include an upgraded kickstand that can bend the device down to display the tablet as far as a 150-degree angle.

Five models of the Surface Pro 3 will be made available with prices starting at $799 for the model with 4 GB of storage, Intel Core i3 processor, and 4 GB of RAM. For the power hungry, you can configure the Surface 3 with up to 512 GB of storage, an Intel Core i7 processor and 8 GB of RAM. Surface Pro 3, Surface Pro Type Cover and Surface Pen will be available for pre-order starting May 21

Along with the tablet, Microsoft will launch an updated, thinner type cover that protects the screen and provides a keyboard with an improved trackpad.
