Mario + Rabbids Kingdom Battle Switch Game to Land This Summer

By

If you had a Nintendo Wii and a bent for strange humor and rabbits, you might remember the Rabbids characters. These little guys all look the same and look like rabbits, but they are insane and always get into trouble and wreak havoc wherever they go. Rabbids first turned up in the Rayman game years ago before getting their own games and even their own cartoon show.

Kotaku is reporting that it was given some assets by a source that proves a new Nintendo Switch game is in the works with plans for it to land in August or September. The game is said to be called Mario + Rabbids Kingdom Battle and will have a host of playable characters from the Mario franchise along with the crazy Rabbids for players to enjoy.

The game is in development by Ubisoft using the Snowdrop engine based on the assets seen. Features of the game are said to include turn-based combat, two-player local co-op, and the sense of humor that the rabbids franchise has made popular. There will be eight playable characters including Mario, Luigi, Yoshi, Peach and a quartet of Rabbids dressed like those four playable Mario franchise characters.

The game is expected to get official at E3 this summer with assets going official at that time, if not sooner. This sounds like a strange game, but the Rabbids titles were fun, if odd. Rabbids always reminded me more than a little of Minions, both have the same penchant for getting into strange and humorous situations.
