LG V30 Lands at AT&T October 5, Supports 5G Evolution Network

AT&T has announced that a new smartphone from LG is coming to its network on October 5. The new device is the LG V30 and while a new phone for users of the network is great, the really big deal here is that the V30 is the first 5G Evolution capable smartphone from LG. Customers needing a new device can buy an LG V30 and get one free on AT&T Next with eligible monthly plans and eligible monthly DIRECTV service.

The smartphone has a 6-inch FullVision HDR QHD+ OLED display and a Hi-Fi DAC for premium sound. The phone supports both DIRECTV and AT&T Plus Unlimited. The front camera is a 5MP unit and the rear camera is a 13MP unit with a wide angle lens for the rear camera. Video recording with Cine Effect lets users make cinema-like movies in HD resolution.

LG also integrates support for Daydream by Google VR. An IP68 rating for the phone means water and dust resistance and the phone is powered by a 3,300 mAh internal battery. Wireless charging is supported and the smartphone has a fingerprint scanner.

It also features facial recognition and Knock Code as well. The LG V30 is $27 per month for 30 months on AT&T Next. That certainly isn’t cheap. That free device does require you to put the full $809 on the installment plan and then bill credits kick in within three bills.
