The Legend of Zelda Smartphone Game Inbound says Rumor

Nintendo already did something that mobile gamers really liked when it launched Super Mario Run on mobile devices months ago. A new report is making the rounds and according to Kotaku, Nintendo is getting ready to bring another of its incredibly popular franchises to mobile devices. This time out the rumor claims The Legend of Zelda will be coming to smartphones.

Right now there are no hard details on what exactly the mobile version of the game might be like. It’s unclear if we are talking about a port of a Zelda game or something more like Super Mario Run. According to the rumor, the Zelda mobile game would come after another major Nintendo property landed on mobile- Animal Crossing.

Animal Crossing is said to land for mobile gamers in the second half of 2017. If the rumors are true than either the Zelda game would land in late 2017 or sometime in 2018. A mobile Zelda game could be huge for Nintendo depending on how it is pulled off. Super Mario Run had none of the Mario Bros. gameplay that fans are used to, but still proved a big success for Nintendo.

Hopefully, the Zelda and Animal Crossing games aren’t copies of Super Mario Run with different characters in them. A real Zelda game for mobile devices would be fantastic, but that is unlikely. Nintendo typically reserves any full gaming experiences for its consoles alone.
